Yamaha Signature-Series Roger Bobo Tuba Mouthpiece
Roger Bobo is a Tuba-wonder called 'the Paganini of the tuba'. In addition to his respectable career as a symphonist, including his long tenure as first tubist at the Rocher Philharmonic, Concertgebouw and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Roger Pionier was the tuba soloist. In 1961 he was the first man in the history of a solo concerto for tuba at New York's Carnegie Hall. He is a man of great natural presence and has played with a frightening virtuosity of solo concerts with top orchestras. Many contemporary composers wrote plays for him. In addition to countless recordings, he inspired the audience with his warm musicality at solo concerts around the world. Roger is also a born teacher who not only teaches but establishes a deep relationship with his students.
The Bobo mouthpiece is available in two forms. The solo model supports a clear, singing, focused sound with good projection and is especially suited for solo performances and for use with F and Eb tubes.
The Symphonic model is characterized by a warm tone, big enough to fill a concert with a rich, colorful tone. It is ideal with Bb and C tubes and can enrich the sound of any ensemble.
