Yamaha Signature Series Alain Trudel Trombone Mouthpiece
Alain Trudel is called the best trombonist worldwide. A real virtuoso. His performances - a combination of immense talent, humor and dramatic flair - have thrilled audiences across the globe. At the age of sixteen, he began playing in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and in his teens, he filled all the deep brass positions, including first trombone and first tuba. Since then, his focus has been on a solo career. Alain holds more than a hundred lectures a year and has done much to make this noble instrument more popular with his solo concerts with more than thirty orchestras in the US, Europe and Asia. He is remarkably versatile. An accomplished jazz musician as well as an expert on the early music of the trombone. He is a crusader of contemporary music and plays his own compositions as well as many concerts written especially for him by leading composers.
The Trudel mouthpiece gives the player a big, warm sound and a ring and cup configuration suitable for both, orchestra and solo trombone. The deep cup and the special ring contours create a sound and feel of a much larger mouthpiece. It feels wide and comfortable. Also, the ring is quite thick, which contributes to longer endurance. The Cup is U-shaped, but has a V-shaped transition in the neck. This design allows for a smooth, dark tone with free airflow and great overtones. The rear hole is shorter than the standard mouthpiece for optimal response in all registers. It's deep enough to modulate the sound and timbres while still keeping the sound centered.
